And In The End...

Hello everyone!

I have had another lovely week!

I'd like to say thank you for all my cards and presents and for coming to see me and for all the laughs I've had. It's been just brilliant.

I've checked the archives and, believe it or not, my first post on the blog was exactly a year ago today (today being the day you receive the email if you are a subscriber).

It's been a brilliant year for so many reasons. In the past twelve months I have (in no particular order) been born (ok - I had to put that first!)... met so many of you, moved house, learned to talk (a bit), learned to crawl, learned to pull myself up and walk around the room (if I'm holding something), eat bananas and lots of other yummy things (toast with Dad is ace!), learned to point at things, learned to wave hello and goodbye (at the same time), found out where apples are kept and helped myself...

...learned to get excited when my fave things are on the telly (when the big fellas will let me watch it), grown teeth, met Santa, dressed up as a pumpkin, started nursery, giggled and wriggled and jiggled a lot and lots, lots more. The list is endless and it's just been a breath-taking time (for the big fellas too).

Thing is - I've been thinking long and hard about it and this will be my last blog post. Maybe. At least for a while.

Some of you will no doubt be aware that I've had a lot of help doing the blog each week. Perhaps a little more than I've ever let on but without Mam and Dad I just wouldn't have been able to do it. We've all had a little talk and decided that from now on the blog should really be my words and not...err...the big fellas. So...Dad has agreed to let me have the password for this account when I'm old enough and then, if I want to, I can pick it up again. This just seems a good point to stop getting all the help and to wait for when I can really do it myself and let you all know what I am up to.

If you are an email subscriber, you can always drop me a line using the email address that delivers the blog to you (the big fellas promise to pass messages on). Subscribers will still get emails but they will only be photos so you can see how I'm doing. If you only get the emails, you can also visit the main site by visiting http://babaodo.blogspot.com/.

Thank you all ever so much for subscribing (if you do), for all your messages and for all the fun. Dad says Sunday nights will never be the same. We'll see!

In the meantime, rest assured I'm having an awful lot of fun and smiling a lot in the likkle blue house on the hill where we all live.

T'ra (and thanks again)

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yes, yes, yes! One year old and having a ball!

Thanks to all of you who sent me a card or a pressie...it was my birthday on Monday (Daddy's too) and I had a lovely time.

Before I report on that, here's me loving the view from my own room in the new gaff...

I really like it here...it's like Trumpton (whatever that is).

It's been sunny so Mam took me to the swings again.

A busy week...Dad was off on Friday and took me out the back to play with the other kids who live where we do...this is Rhys who made me feel at home...

I also listened to the sounds of the valleys...apparently they always keep a welcome...whatever, it's a brill place to live.

Later on it was times for photos of me and the big fellas...

I'm getting better at walking...anything will do when it comes to getting a hand up but the sofa is the best...

Mind you...crawling is pretty good too...

OK--let's cut to the chase...my birthday party...

Before everyone came Grandma and Grandad helped me put up some balloons outside the house.

Here's some pics of all my visitors...

I had a great time opening my presents...

Amongst other things, the big fellas got me a lovely rocking horse...I don't know what his name is yet.

I also got a brill cake...

It tasted pretty good too...

In fact...everything tasted lovely. Dad said he was very pleased to have jelly on his birthday again.

Eventually it was time to blow out my candle. Dad helped me but I didn't have enough puff to help him with his.

Brilliant! It was such a great day and being one is great 'cos everyone pays you even more attention than usual!!!

I think I need a lie down after all that...bye bye for now.

One Week To Go!

Hello everyone!

I'm going to be quick this week as we're all getting ready for the big one. Literally...the big ONE!

Can you believe that it's my birthday next Monday? I don't know quite what to expect because I've never had a birthday before but Dad's had plenty and he says it's ace. As it's his birthday too it should be double bubble ace! The big fellas have been whispering a lot so I suppose it's a surprise but I can't wait!

My best photos this week were from the park (the observant amongst you will notice it was the park at the pub - again - but it was a sunny day and everyone's been very busy)

Here's me on the swings...

I was waving to someone going to the bar as I'd run out of water.

After that I made my way over to the horse. I think the phrase is - 'you can give me water and lead me to a horse but I can't quite get on it'

I even tried to make my way to the bigger attractions because I can now.

Brilliant!

Right. I'd better dash for now. I'll keep you posted about the birthday thing as soon as I find out what the heck is going on.

Bye for now.

Biting Back

Right - I've been darkside for way too long. The 'nice' people at BT managed to turn my broadband back on even though it had been on since I moved in. Dad explained it to me. They have to turn it off in order to turn it back on again so that the shareholders don't get too fat and vote for someone else that can do things properly - or something like that. Anyway. It all seems ok now and I won't go on and on about it anymore. It's just nice to be back.

It's been an interesting week. I'd not been too good as my teeth were hurting me. This caused me to wake up at odd hours in the night and to see how far I could throw food around the kitchen when I didn't like it.

I'm ok now. The best thing about all these new teeth is getting to clean them!

The new house is still proving to be a lot of fun. Here's me playing in my own room! I've decided what colour I'm going to do it and am just waiting for the big fellas to decide when they are going to help me paint the bits I can't reach.

We even managed to get out in the garden one day when it was not raining.

We had to run in quick, mind, when I spotted a cloud coming.

Elsewhere up the house I've made up a new game. It's called "Pull-The-Books-Down-And-Make-A-Mess-That-Someone-Else-Has-To-Pick-Up" (TM).

OK - they're not all my books but the big fellas read mine so I reckon it's only fair I have the odd browse through some of theirs, right?

I've been reading a lot actually. I found this new magazine I like.

Actually it was an ad that caught my eye (click on the pic for a bigger view). It promised half price autumn offers but it was rubbish. Anyone could order stuff. What a let-down.

Spot of double Millie action this week too! First up I had a play with my friend Millie.

She showed me her standing skills whilst I gave a waving masterclass.

Then, on another day, I went to Millie's Madhouse (the play centre as opposed to where my friend Millie lives, like). I thought I'd try some of the standing skills I'd learned, though.

Not bad at all.

Right - before I sign off with a photo of me eating a lemon in Tesco, I'll give you the link to my latest video on Youtube where you can see me standing up all on my own but only with a sofa to help. It's a little dark as we had an early start that day but I think you'll get the general idea.
